Jean Gallant Marcoux was born in Quebec City Canada, where he earned an MD degree from Laval University. As a board-certified allergist, he practiced in Quebec City from 1970 to 1977, after which he continued his career in Houston Texas until his retirement in 2007. Passionate for history, he has published articles for historical society magazines in his native Quebec. This is his debut novel. Dr. Marcoux lives in Houston with his family.

Our Time Will Come: War, Separation and a Daring Attempt to Reunite is a historical fiction novel written by Jean Gallant Marcoux. Helene Simard was a young orphan who had been strictly brought up by the French Canadian sisters at the convent she attended. It was 1938, and the twenty-year-old was now a student at L’Ecole Nationale des Beaux-Arts in Paris. She would be studying there for two years in preparation for a career as an instructor back home. While she was engrossed in copying a work by Monet, she failed to notice that her work had caught the eye of a blond young man, who introduced himself as a fellow student at L’Ecole. This was his final year, however, and he would be returning to Germany at its completion. His name was Hans Werner, and he invited her for a picnic the following Sunday at the Jardin de Tuileries. Helene wasn’t sure how to respond and bought herself a bit of a reprieve by saying she needed to check with her roommate to see if they had plans, but she knew she couldn’t resist seeing him again. The attraction each of them felt was intense and unmistakable.
Jean Gallant Marcoux’s Our Time Will Come: War, Separation and a Daring Attempt to Reunite follows the young artists and lovers, Helene and Hans, as they attempt what seems the impossible -- to reunite in a world torn apart by the Second World War. Marcoux’s plot works on so many levels, and the power of his settings, in Paris, Germany, and Canada, makes it easy for the reader to get totally involved in the story and the situations facing the two main characters. Our Time Will Come is beautifully written and is impossible to put down until the last pages are finished. Marcoux’s characters feel real, and the reader can’t help but feel for their predicament and hope for a happy resolution. Our Time Will Come: War, Separation and a Daring Attempt to Reunite is most highly recommended.
