Joel R. Dennstedt's novel, Orange Cappuccino: An Alaskan Adventure, is written in such a realistic style it reads like a true adventure story. Josh is an office supplies salesman and calls upon Sarah. He is immediately taken with her soft feminine beauty and her decisive, honest nature. A romantic relationship evolves; eventually, Josh leaves his wife and young children, and Sarah leaves her husband. They begin a complicated life together, moving from sunny southern California, to Colorado and eventually to Alaska. Their rituals of drinking mugs of orange cappuccino and smoking marijuana from the same pipe grounds them within their relationship. Their used truck, Teddy, is their constant companion. At the same time, they deal with many inconsistencies in their new life. As they progress through many job changes and financial hardships, their relationship also experiences stages of extreme closeness, and needed time apart.
