One Tough Cookie by Sean Cusack is a fun and inspirational picture book for young children. Chip, the only chocolate chip cookie in his family, tries and tries to be like his siblings, who all have fun jobs that they're good at. But no matter how hard Chip tries, he just keeps failing, and this makes him sad. After trying everything, Chip is left feeling hopeless and doesn't know what else to do. But with some uplifting words from his mother, Eclair, Chip once again has hope and strives to make something of himself. With his older siblings' unkind torment, and a big bully wreaking havoc in the town, will Chip finally become who he is meant to be? Find out in One Tough Cookie.
One Tough Cookie was a pleasure to read. It is an uplifting and inspirational book from which children will learn a crucial lesson. Sean Cusack has done a great job at using the character Chip as an example of how you should never give up hope, no matter what it is you are facing, even if it's a big bully! I enjoyed the storyline and the illustrations are detailed and creative; I loved that Chip's mum was called Eclair! So if you have a child who is a bit down in the dumps, and is in need of a confidence boost, then look no further. Grab a copy of this beautifully told story by talented author Sean Cusack. Keep up the good work, Sean, I can't wait to see what you create next.
