Noah's Lark by Dana L. Brown is a contemporary romance novel about a player named Noah who has everything going for him except the right woman. He could have any woman he wants, and he's had plenty, but the one that got away is the only one he wanted, and now his brother has just married her. Trying to move on with his life, Noah hooks up with a girl who isn't right for him, and this helps him realizes he may have made some bad moves and choices in his playboy dream world. He isn't about to give up on finding Miss Right, however. This book is part of a series called the AMI Family Series.
What I like about this book is the character of Noah himself. He's a well-rounded sort of guy, with strengths and flaws--someone you'd like to know. He isn't perfect, and he has a little baggage, but he has a supportive family. I like that he doesn't sit around and mope about his situation. At least, not for long. He tries to change his circumstances in a proactive way. Life is short, and he wants to shed his old life in favor of a more settled version of it--true love--possibly the life of a family man. I enjoy that this story is set on the beach, has interesting characters, a heart-tugging plot, and lots of room for a follow-up or two. This author knows how to build a character, a world, and then execute it all so that you begin to care deeply about what happens to the key players. Noah's Lark by Dana L. Brown is the perfect way to unwind if you're looking for a great weekend read.
