Nature's Creatures - Wellness Teachers by Annie Yu, with illustrations by Maggie Chen, is a children's storybook that teaches valuable lessons from nature. The story follows Riley, a young boy who is having a bad day at school. Despite trying everything, he cannot seem to get anything right, which makes him feel angry. After school, his grandfather takes him on a walk to enjoy nature and its lessons, hoping to brighten his day and calm him down. As they explore the natural world, Riley learns important life lessons from the animals around him. From the birds in the sky to the snails on the ground, the running horses, spiders, bees, and many more creatures, he discovers the value of patience, resilience, teamwork, exercise, and relaxation.
Nature's Creatures - Wellness Teachers is an inspiring book that provides a fresh perspective on nature. I was pleasantly surprised by the profound lessons that can be learned by both children and adults. Annie Yu creatively draws life-changing lessons from the lives of creatures, big and small, and presents them in a way that children will understand and appreciate. The use of rhyming words adds a fun and engaging rhythm to the story. The book is beautifully illustrated, showcasing the animals and their habitats in a lush green environment. The artwork has a calming effect, thanks to the warm colors that perfectly complement the story. Overall, I enjoyed this book and highly recommend it to anyone who wants to learn important lessons from a new perspective.
