"My Pop-Up Bible Stories," written by Juliet David and illustrated by Daniel Haworth, is a treasure for young children! There are five well-known Bible stories included in this book. Each story is told in a brief paragraph and then the passage where the story can be found in the Bible is given. Along with each of the stories is a pop-up illustration that is very vibrant and filled with detail, and portrays the story well. The stories included in this book are: Daniel being rescued from the lion's den, Moses becoming prince of Egypt, the little girl being brought back to life, the shepherd finding his lost sheep, and Jesus stopping the storm.
I must say that this is a beautiful book. I was in awe of the illustrations when I first opened the book! My children's favorite page is the story of Jesus stopping the storm. Jesus' arm moves as do the fish and the duck. This book is a great way to teach and to make us visualize the stories and lessons from the Bible. This book is meant for young children as the stories are very short and the illustration quite fitting. I am sure older children too will enjoy it. This book really brings to life the stories for children and it is a great way to show children the stories and help them to remember them. Care should be taken when reading this book, especially with very young children, as the illustrations may rip and tear apart easily. This is a book that you will not want to miss out for sharing with your children!
