What is stronger than the bond between a mother and child? That’s right! Nothing! My Little Tangerine: To All the Mothers in Our World is a sweet homage to the love between a child and mother. M. T. Fon shares themes of unconditional love and acceptance. This love leads to feeling secure, which in turn gives the child the courage to try new things. A parent’s strength to protect and provide for the child gives way to the child learning how to express gratitude. This maternal love continues from childhood into adulthood. If a child has love, they have all they really need. Unfortunately, motherhood has been under attack recently, but the author wants women to understand that nothing is greater than being a mother.
For forty-plus years, I worked as a pastoral counselor and saw the destruction caused by absent or distant mothers. M. T. Fon has a good outlook and understanding of the importance of being a loving and accepting mother. My Little Tangerine: To All the Mothers in Our World is a breath of fresh air concerning the vital need of children to know they are unconditionally loved and accepted. Fon is both a good writer and illustrator. She blends her skills in this book to present a readable and enjoyable children’s story. The inspiration for this book is her experience as a loving mother. This book is an absolute delight to read aloud to your child. Not only will you enjoy reading this book to your child, but your child will also grow in understanding the loving things a mother does for her child.
