My Kind of Perfect (Friends Like These Book 3) by Hannah Ellis is chick lit at its best. Marie is always looking to please everyone, but she has a lot to put up with in her life at the moment. Her workaholic fiancé doesn’t want anything to do with his family; her best friend is acting unreasonably; her wedding plans don’t exist; and somehow she has managed to get herself a personal trainer. In spite of everything, Marie maintains her sunny disposition, amusing herself with the antics of her Fat Club Friends. Marie needs to be able to mend her friendship with Grace and, if she can solve all the other issues, she can have the wedding of her dreams…can’t she?
My Kind of Perfect by Hannah Ellis is book 3 of the Friends Like These series. I did not read the first two in the series and was concerned that it would spoil my enjoyment of this one, but it didn’t. I felt that this could be read as a standalone novel, although as part of the series would probably be better. We all have a friend like Marie and we all have a friend like Grace, and the reality of the characters means that every reader will identify with someone in the book. The characters were well-written and funny, a great group of people who really fit together. The storyline had a bit of everything in it – romance, humor, mystery – and it all flowed along nicely in an easy to read format that made you want to keep on reading, with a need to find out where the story was going and what would happen next.
