My Friend Swoop by Tim Bernard is a beautiful story for children about a skydiver who meets three hungry birds. The skydiver, who is also a carpenter, raises the little birds by feeding them and taking care of them. The carpenter grows close to one of the little birds more than the others, and he calls him Swoop. Swoop is a little blue bird who likes to sit on the carpenter's head and shoulders.
One day the three little birds go missing, leaving the carpenter feeling sad and wondering if he'll ever see little Swoop again. The carpenter sets out on a skydive and whilst he is up high in the sky, he sees Swoop! His sadness turns to joy as he sees Swoop flying around with his new girlfriend, having new adventures. Grab a copy of this heart-warming book to see what Swoop has been up to!
My Friend Swoop was a pleasure to read. Tim Bernard has told such a beautiful story of friendship between a man and his best friend, it almost brought a tear to my eye! The bond between them is adorable and the fact that the book is based on a true story makes it even sweeter. The illustrations by the talented Craig Martel are fantastic and bring the characters to life, which makes it that much more enjoyable. I hope to see this book become a series as I would like to read more of Swoop's adventures. And I'm sure children will too. This book has everything you need to entertain your child whilst filling their hearts with a warm, fuzzy feeling. Congrats on the beautiful book, Tim. I look forward to reading more of your work.
