Who among us hasn't wished, once in a while, for a little more glamor in their lives? I had a sense for Beth Barony right away: accomplished Midwest mom, solid citizen, worried she's in a rut. Then I was browsing celebrity gossip for a mindless escape and Regan Forrester appeared to me. It turned out she--not Beth--was the one begging to escape her life, and she took over the story in exciting ways. I loved discovering these women and watching them learn what the other's life is really like in a way that both bonds and terrifies them. I hope you'll enjoy their adventure!

My Day As Regan Forrester is a work of fiction in the women's literature genre. It is suitable for the general adult reading audience and was penned by author Misty Urban. The book follows Beth Barony after she makes a wish for a more exciting life and ends up body swapped with a Hollywood starlet. What should be a fun day in someone else’s shoes turns to danger, however, when Beth realizes that someone has painted a target on her back, and the starlet currently inhabiting her usual body isn’t keen on the idea of giving it back.
The formula of body-swapping in order to give a character a fresh perspective on their life has been done before, but what sets this story apart from others is the whiplash Beth receives upon trying to live a day in the life of Regan Forrester. Regan has a reputation plaguing her, and the behind-the-scenes of her life isn’t nearly as glamorous as what she shows on the red carpet. The real fresh twist comes in the mystery plotline of who is trying to kill Regan and why, something which author Misty Urban delivers with intrigue and exciting prose throughout. Beth and Regan make engaging lead characters in My Day as Regan Forrester’s high-stakes body swap, both of them with emotional baggage that they need to learn how to carry. They are presented well and feel like fleshed-out real people in the eye of the reader, an accomplishment that kept me glued to the pages from beginning to end.
