Studies in Advertising Art at Red River College led Lisa into the fields of television and design. Working behind and in front of the cameras as a writer/producer and host of two television shows, the creative challenges of copywriting took a personal turn and she began to write for her young children. Inspired by the forest around her family island home, nature set the scene for the magic that came to life on the page.
As a single mother, Lisa focused on the positive as she navigated the bumps of life and brought up her children with loving and strong ideals. Themes of self-reliance, tolerance and caring for ourselves, and the planet were prevalent in her home and are now the key messages through her books.

Mother Nature's Kiss is a picture book for preschool children written and illustrated by Lisa G. Shore. What was that bright light shining far off in the distance? It was something that the author had seen many years ago and wondered about, and then a poem commemorating that moment seemed to flow naturally from the experience. Over the years, she lost the ragged piece of paper she had written that poem on, but her mind kept its essence fresh and unspoiled. In this book, she gives that poem life as a sleepy child looks out over the waters and marvels at the light shining brightly from afar. What could it be?
Lisa G. Shore’s picture book for preschool children, Mother Nature's Kiss, is an ethereal and magical homage to nature. Her poem unfolds beautifully, and her artwork is lovely and filled with enchantment. Each panel is brimming with mystery: the dark silhouettes of trees and shoreline; the glowing stars in the firmament; the often present, though elusive Aurora Borealis, hanging and shimmering purple and pink and turquoise. This is a marvelous book to share with a child interactively. Linger on each picture and imagine with them what that light could be and marvel at the stars and planets in each nighttime sky. There’s even an interplanetary adventure lurking within these pages, waiting to delight and surprise young imaginations. While a grand bedtime selection, this story is also a perfect primer for a new reader. Mother Nature's Kiss is most highly recommended.
