In More Than Luck Required, Connie Morgan takes us on a journey of love and redemption after grief and loss. Lora has suffered great losses in the past couple of years, which has made her close herself off from her loved ones, particularly her mother. On his deathbed, her father made a dying request that she had to find her way back to a normal life. As a means to this end, together with her mother, Rebecca, she goes on a mini vacation to one of their favorite places they had often visited as a family. While taking a solitary walk, she loses her way and meets Cooper. Coop, as he likes to be called, is a single dad with a daughter, Emma. There is some attraction between them; however, Coop and Lora each have to figure out their challenging personal situations and trauma to blend into one family unit.

The characters in More Than Luck Required by Connie Morgan are vivid and relatable. I loved how the characters each have a unique backstory and distinct personality. In particular, Lora’s character is depicted with depth; her struggles and triumphs are emotional and authentic. I also enjoyed the writing style, which evoked emotions within me and enabled me to be fully engaged from beginning to end. The plot was superbly written, and there was a hint of a thriller aspect brought in by secondary characters who nicely tied up the story. I enjoyed this book immensely, and highly recommend it to readers looking for an inspirational and romantic story.
