Not an easy task for anyone, let alone a young witch trying to avoid the combined powers of other young witches.

Elena Paige’s middle grade novel, Moon Magic, is Book 4 of the Evie Everyday Witch series. The plot follows a lot of exciting twists and turns as Evie leaves her non-witch school for regular kids to respond to an invitation to share her experimental magic at her old witch school in Pergoria. The author keeps the reader engaged with lots of magic, mayhem and compelling and believable dialogue. The story is told mostly through dialogue and moves forward quickly. There are drawings to accompany the text, adding to the interest of the developing plot. This is another fun and entertaining read for young readers who love magic and a quirky little witch like Evie.

Moon Magic is book four of the Evie Everyday Witch Series by Elena Paige. Evie Everyday loves math more than anything in the world. Elena Paige brings us back into Evie’s magical world with book four of her Evie Everyday Witch Series: Moon Magic. Evie is a smart, mischievous, and eccentric witch who prefers inventing potions, making new spells, or discovering hidden magic rather than doing things the traditional way as most witches do. In Moon Magic, she finds an opportunity to prove to everyone how amazing experimental magic can be. I love how unique Evie is and how creative her spells are, there is never a dull moment with her. As she goes back to the place that once shunned her for being different, Evie is excited to show everyone her type of magic, but she fears being laughed at or made fun of. Despite the less than stellar welcome she gets and her fear for her friend, Izzy, Evie bravely faces the challenges in front of her. As she goes through her trials, she grows along with her experiences and teaches us the importance of friendship and the courage to fight for what you believe in. Evie makes new, unexpected friends and learns that even traditional magic has its advantages. The illustrations by Stephanie Parcus are wonderful, and they help bring this magical story to life. It helped me visualize Evie's and her friends’ adventures as I read along. Overall, an exciting children’s fantasy book. Great work!
