Wes Karchut, MBA, and Darby Karchut, M.Ed. have written a tool that can be used by teenagers, parents and pretty much anybody who needs guidance in their financial decisions. This book takes the reader through a general teaching of how to handle, plan and make the best decisions possible with regard to money matters. Money can be overwhelming. There is no question about that! From what to spend to how to spend, you will learn about checking accounts, debit versus credit and even how to approach student loans. The book guides you through taxes and why we pay what we do. The section on loans is especially helpful and interest, compound interest and long term commitment are explained in an easy to understand manner that does not leave the reader confused. The authors have done a wonderful job writing for those who are not highbrow financiers. It is written for the average consumer.
As the mother of a very responsible teenager, I am always looking for tools that I can share with my daughter to assist her in obtaining her goals. This book will be purchased for her own reference library as she matures and approaches financial milestones. I highly recommend this writing for ALL high schools, colleges and public libraries. Money can be good or ... well, the source of great woe if not handled properly. If you can have just one book in your possession to help you with financial choices, this is the one you want.
