Mommy, Where Are You? by C.G. Adler is a delightful story about turtle hatchlings and conveys some good messages to young readers. Aubree is excited that today they will all hatch and crawl into a large wave that will draw them into the ocean to begin their life’s journey. The ocean looks far away. Aubree is wondering how they will crawl that far to reach the ocean because they are all so small. Just then, a large wave washes in and catches many of her brothers and sisters. The next wave takes more brothers and sisters, but Aubree gets stuck in some weed grass. Aubree is tired and she goes to sleep. When she wakes up, there are no waves to take her to the ocean. She decides to go looking for her mommy. She meets different creatures on the beach, but not her mommy. She is sad and crawls into a large pink conch shell and goes to sleep. Will Aubree be able to find her mommy?
