Mobster's Girl (Mobster's Series Book 1) by Amy Rachiele is a young adult romance that puts readers smack dab in the middle of an Italian Mafia family. Antonio is 18 and looking at becoming the newest mob boss in Palmetto, New Jersey. He's a family man, for sure, but he doesn't know if he is the way he is because he was born that way or made that way. Megan left Ireland at the age of five. At 17, she thinks she is old enough to know what she wants, but her parents forbid her from seeing Antonio. Antonio has always wanted to be with Megan. He doesn't like watching her slip away. But Antonio's lifestyle definitely puts Megan in danger and Antonio can't handle that. He's used to danger from the outside, but what happens when the danger comes from someone closer to home? Can Antonio save Megan and protect their budding romance?
Mobster's Girl is a modern twist on a classic tale of forbidden love. Danger always surrounds mobsters and makes them attractive and dangerous at the same time. I really enjoyed these characters, especially their budding romance. I liked how they dealt with the fact that their parents didn't want them to be together and fought for their time with one another. I wanted to spend so much more time with these characters and was sad when the story was over.
