Have you almost given up on the prospect of ever finding love again? Does the thought of stepping into the dating scene and going on a first date fill you with absolute dread? Maybe you feel your time of being in love is over. Do you feel you are too mature for dating or just too picky? Throughout this light-hearted look at all aspects of finding, maintaining and rejuvenating a relationship that is perfect for you, you will realize that the desire to have love in your life never ends. Love is an essential part of life and when you are in the right relationship, it can bring you so much happiness and help your personal growth in so many ways. Using her skills as a clinical psychologist and relationship counselor, as well as her own personal stories, Tasha Jackson imparts her golden nuggets of wisdom on the emotional maze of relationships in an easy to follow and comical way in Master Dater. You will discover what sort of relationship is right for you, why you have had issues finding 'The One' and how to keep a relationship romantic and passionate.
Master Dater by Tasha Jackson is not only remarkably informative but hilarious too. I think most readers will relate to the stories and insights throughout the book. I loved the analogy of The Seinfeld Curse and the dream of a perfect relationship never matches what happens in reality (the image of Will Ferrell in tight trousers is still with me). Although there are plenty of moments of lightheartedness throughout, such as The Ugly Step-children and The Man In The Boat, this book covers so many topics that people fearful of dating will experience; coping with past relationships ending, dealing with bumps in the road, and why it is important to date out of your comfort zone. There are other brilliant sections too that I found helpful, such as how to behave on a first date, how to know if a certain person is right for you, and knowing how to spot those worrying signals that a person is not compatible with you. What I did appreciate, though, was the point the author made regarding the importance of a person having to be ready emotionally and psychologically for a relationship and making time to work on yourself first.
