March & Feather is penned by author Emma Saska in the coming-of-age, interpersonal drama, and contemporary romance subgenres. It is intended for the young adult reading audience. The action follows high school senior Audra Dunne as she navigates the complexities of friendship, family, and personal identity at Stony Point Homeschool Academy. Audra finds solace in her digital persona, Feather, exchanging texts with her best friend March, whom she met on a homeschool forum. When March reveals he has moved to Audra's city, she begins to question their pact to remain anonymous. Meanwhile, Audra grapples with family issues and personal crises, prompting her to contemplate the value of stepping outside her comfort zone. As Audra faces unexpected challenges and uncertainties, she must weigh the risks and rewards of embracing change and forging new connections.
Author Emma Saska has crafted a truly immersive reading experience that delves into the intricacies of teenage friendships and self-discovery and I enjoyed every second of this interesting and original plot. Audra's journey resonates with authenticity, capturing the uncertainties and insecurities of adolescence while also highlighting the power of human connection, and I was really impressed by the narrative skill and thought presentation in bringing her to life. The dynamic between Audra, March, and the other characters is compelling with fantastic authentic teen dialogue, drawing readers into Audra's world as she navigates the complexities of her relationships and confronts her fears and desires in an earnest and heartfelt way. The novel's exploration of identity, friendship, and resilience offers valuable insights for young readers navigating their own journeys of self-discovery too. Overall, March & Feather is a poignant and engaging coming-of-age story that celebrates the transformative power of human connection and the courage to embrace change, and I would certainly recommend it to YA fans everywhere.
