Thinking about celebrating your 18th birthday is always exciting, but when Maggie finds information in an old hidden chest that proves she is adopted, betrayal shows its ugly face, and she is not happy with the parents who raised her, nor her birth parents. But then she discovers another family secret that causes her to lose all sense of identity, sending her away from her home in Seattle, Washington, on a difficult journey to find answers, and to find out who she really is.
Lena Dooley just knows how to write a wonderful story full of entertainment! Maggie finding out that she is adopted was the key to capturing my attention and I couldn’t close my book until I finished the story. Ms. Dooley creates likeable and realistic characters and brings them to life through vivid details. I really liked Maggie, and suffered with her as she finds out secrets that could wreck her life forever. But with Maggie’s strength and confidence, she is determined to find out how her life began, and everything else involved. For me the sweetest part of the book is how the author shows that love, forgiveness and truth can come out of deception and secrets. But it is not always easy; it usually comes with a price, as it does with Maggie in “Maggie’s Journey.” I highly recommend this awesome book for anyone who enjoys a good Christian fiction to read. I encourage you to pick up your copy today. And don’t forget to look for the other books in Ms. Dooley’s 'McKenna’s Daughters Series'.
