Love's Magic by Killarney Sheffield is about Celeste Summers who finds herself in a difficult situation and then finds herself in an even more difficult situation that she didn't put herself in and that she tries to get herself out of by falling back on her skills as a magician. None of her plans go how she thinks they should thanks to pirates and the dreaded Duke of Doomsbury. Devlin, the Duke of Doomsbury, is just trying to fulfill a promise to his late father when everything involving Celeste goes awry. Dexter the rabbit stays by Celeste's side through everything, even helping in some of her schemes to avoid marriage to the dreaded Duke of Doomsbury.
Love's Magic by Killarney Sheffield is one of those love stories that draws you in and has you hoping both characters get what they want, but still hoping that they get together and that everything works out and there is a happily ever after. I particularly loved how Dexter the rabbit was portrayed. The nature of pet rabbits was captured and it made me smile and remember the antics of my own pet rabbits. Killarney Sheffield used amazing imagery that put me right there with Celeste and Devlin through all their adventures and all of Celeste's schemes. The dislike that the servants showed for Dexter was also spot on with how people react to rabbits, even down to calling them rodents and despising them because they are unconventional pets. I will definitely be looking for other books by Killarney Sheffield.
