Love Is As Strong As Death by Ci'Monique Green is one of those stories that seems to transcend its genre some and just ends up as a book that grips you. Ci'Monique introduces us to Sarai Jenkins, a born again virgin who has guarded her heart, mind and body to maintain her celibacy for a decade. Until she meets RJ in the supermarket parking lot.
Sarai is a woman who like most just wants to be loved, and she wants to be loved deeply and fully. So when RJ showed up and started breaking down her long built walls with his handsome charming ways she is left unarmed. It does not take long for Sarai to be fully in love with this man whom she thinks is that one who is special and the one. That is until suddenly everything she thought she knew crashes to pieces and she finds out she actually knows nothing about this man.
When I pick a book with Christian themes I am careful about it and sometimes I worry that the religion will take away from the story and be thrust down the reader's throat. This is not the case at all with Love Is As Strong As Death. The Christian themes complement and enhance the story, making it that much more enjoyable and allowing the reader a deeper connection to it.
Ci'Monique creates characters that you cannot help but be drawn to. RJ is charming; one of those men that anyone would be drawn to in real life. While Sarai is a strong woman figure who you feel a connection with and want things to work out for her so much. I would recommend this book to any reader who wants a gripping story that will enthrall them at every page.
