Old miner, Phillip Smith, says God wants him to put an ad in the Boston newspaper for a mail order bride. His close friend Jeremiah doesn’t agree with him at all, but goes along with helping Phillip anyway. Madeline Mercer comes from a very wealthy family, but when her father dies, leaving her his business, she finds out that he owes so much money to make her penniless. She is so scared of her dad’s partner because he tries to force her into marriage that she answers an ad for a mail order bride and takes off to Mexico with her servants in answer to the ad.
Lena Dooley adds another wonderful book to the 'Love Finds You' series with her new novel “Love Finds You in Golden New Mexico”. I love this sweet historical story with a little different twist on a mail order bride. Though a lot of the story is predictable, there is so much going on here to captures your interest fully so that it keeps you reading until the very end. The characters are wonderfully planned and developed. I really like Maddy and the Sneeds, and Jeremiah is a fun and comical guy, undecided at what he really wants. But Phillip is my favorite because he is such a sweet old man, one that everyone needs to have in their life. And I really appreciate the way the characters have God in their everyday lives, and show how God can give peace in the middle of our difficult situations. In general, this is a wonderful read and I highly recommend it for anyone, especially if you enjoy historical fiction. You will not be disappointed in this one at all!
