Let's Just Cuddle: A Guide to Intimacy with a Sex Abuse Survivor by Petra King is about the challenges faced by sexually abused people in an intimate relationship. The book also speaks about the author's personal experiences as she shares with readers her healing process.
The book is an excellent guide for those who have been in a traumatic experience of sexual abuse. The author guides them to connect with their inner self, teaches them acceptance and to be honest with their feelings. There are exercises for couples who are trapped in struggles like this. The author's experiences make the book more genuine. The poems related to sex abuse are touching and speak about the victim's anguish and pain. It is a must-read for parents, too; it helps to keep their eyes open to perverted people coming near their children and also meeting the emotional needs of a sexually abused child. Many people try to get close to the families and then end up abusing the child there. So parents also have to be cautious about their friends, family, and relatives to a large extent.
The book encourages victims not to fall into depression, to stay strong and not give up on themselves. This book can be used as a guide for sex abuse workers in healing the victims and also for those who are in a relationship with sexually abused people.
