Learning to Love Me: Ordinary Women with Extraordinary Stories by Toneal Jackson is an anthology of short stories and inspirational tales written by twenty different women that all share the same message: for women to learn to love themselves no matter what. The women in these stories come from all different personal experiences, backgrounds, are different ages, races, and different economic and social statuses. And yet, they all share a message that it is important to love oneself. That self-love is the most important place to start because how can you expect anyone to love you or take you seriously if you don't give yourself that first chance? This is an inspiring collection of fascinating tales of encouragement, triumph, and achievement.
I think readers will really appreciate the encouraging and uplifting messages within these stories. Women looking for romance will enjoy Joyce Stewart's message that you never have to wait for someone to love you because you can be free to love yourself. Readers will appreciate the honesty and conviction in Serena Wadhwa's story about the loss of a child. I particularly connected with this story because of my own personal experiences. I think the beauty of this book and the one thing readers will really appreciate is there are so many different stories and authors that there is always someone to connect with. There's sure to be one story that really sounds like it was written just for you.
