Learning to Fly by Chalon Linton is the third book in her Air Force Romance series. In this story, we meet Kasie Foster and her brother, Tucker. After losing his wife expectedly, he transfers to an Air Force Base in Texas to be able to spend more time with his young son, Noah. Not knowing who else to ask for help, he asks if Kasie would join him to help out for a year until he can work out other childcare arrangements. Kasie agrees, having no idea that her ex-boyfriend, the one she hasn't been able to forget, is also there. Will she be able to move on, or will her plans crumble to pieces before her eyes yet again?
I loved reading Learning to Fly by Chalon Linton and had no trouble following along without reading the previous books. While there might be some slight carryover, with brief mentions of previous characters, the story works fine as a stand-alone. So, if you're going to read them all, I'd recommend starting with the first book. That said, I quickly found myself drawn to these characters, and by the midpoint, I couldn't wait to see how things would turn out. I also loved meeting some of the other members on the Base with them, including several of Andrew's friends. They added a fun new dynamic to the story as things progressed, plus Hope made for a great friend and mentor type character for Kasie, which I loved. Overall, this was a lovely read!
