Award-winning author John C. Maxwell in Learning From the Giants helps both believers and leaders better understand how to become the leader God has called you to be. John uses biblical characters to explain great leadership examples and how their successes and failures are things from which we can glean wisdom and understanding. These leaders had many valuable insights into their adventures and the reader can learn from their miserable failures as well as their overwhelming victories. There are pointed questions for the reader to look deep within themselves to better understand how they view leaders and how they can become the leader that God has called them to become. Great insightful questions help to develop the leader and deal with issues that otherwise they may never deal with and thus make uncalled for mistakes.
Author John C. Maxwell declares that when there is a crisis, God always develops new leaders and calls them to fulfill their God-called purpose. Everyone who is called has the opportunity to response in either a positive or negative manner. Accepting or rejecting that call could determine the outcome of the blessings of one’s life. One powerful thing that any newly called leader must realize is that before they go and minister to others, they themselves must first be ministered to by the Lord. Before one has anything to give another, they must first receive from the Lord. This is a must-read for anyone in leadership who desires to be stronger and more effective in helping others.
