Lake Fun For You and Me by Rinda Beach is an unconventional and innovative approach to a book as it is a part storybook that takes readers along with Zoe and her family on their lake vacation. The story unfolds on the right side and on the left side readers can narrate their own story of a lake vacation. The adventures begin when their mom reveals the Lake Hunt Fun and Zoe, Maddie, and Nick go to explore the lake to find answers to their mom's questions. Zoe is the youngest in the family and she is keen to beat her brother and sister. As she writes her answers on the right side, readers can commence their own Lake Hunt Fun where they can write about their adventures and do their own illustrations. When the book ends, readers will get two stories; one from Zoe and the other one their own adventure story.
The concept of writing a book like this is not only refreshingly original but will also make young readers imaginative and eager to come up with interesting ideas and thoughts and share them in the book. The Digital Image Manipulation by Rick Starkey makes this book even more exciting and adventurous and will pull in readers to have fun with Zoe, Maddie, and Nick.
