Kool, Smooth, Suave' Me by Robert Reed is a book for the youth to dissuade them from getting addicted to alcohol and drugs. The drug and alcohol scare is everywhere and it is raising concern all around to see the youth destroying their lives by falling slaves to addictions. Each individual is ruled by the experiences and circumstances they encounter in their respective lives. This book focuses on peer pressure, self worth, decision making, and the ability to stand alone. The author's experiences and first hand knowledge of drug and alcohol problems present an honest and genuine book that will help eradicate the devastation of drug and alcohol abuse.
I would recommend this book to all parents who are bringing up adolescents, and also school institutions to make the youth understand the destructive power of drugs and alcohol. The author's experiences are tangible and help the youth to connect well with the incidents narrated by him. The black and white sketches capture the mood of the author while he was going through his dark phase, and leave a lasting impact on the minds of readers. Many readers will be able to relate to the author's experiences and this will encourage them to give up drugs and make the right decisions in their lives. A good book that gives insight into how to stay away from and also get rid of addictions.
