Kill for You by Ayden K. Morgen places you right in the middle of a bloody war between two of the deadliest gangs in the Los Angeles area. Faith Donovan is dazed when the shooting starts, tearing up the bar in which she works. She walks out of the bar relatively unharmed, which is the only lucky thing that has happened to her. Tired of seeing those around her die, Faith decides to help Detective Octavio Hernandez place names to the faces of the dead and injured. She knows this only means another beating or being killed for just speaking to the cops. She is so tired of the endless torture and imprisonment. For Octavio, Faith is more than a witness. His protective nature kicks in, and he would do anything to see her safe. There is much more to her story than Octavio could ever have expected. Could Octavio really protect her as promised? Could Faith hold the answers to his years of searching?
Ayden K. Morgen writes a complex novel that makes you feel as if you’re standing in the room. Kill for You brings out the crime and terror that runs through gangland and it is a hard life. The characters are rough with issues they deal with daily. I loved how the author gives the characters depth as they deal with fear, mistrust, and love. Criminals don’t rest, so Octavio and Faith have to be diligent and watch as the search for her is expedited. Overall, this novel will grab you. The characters are tough and gritty; the action is fast and startling; sparks between Faith and Octavio are hot. Add to that a mystery as to Faith’s importance, making this a fabulous crime story.
