Lori Martin, a nighttime radio host, is always positive with her callers and listeners. She finds the best in situations and advises like nobody’s business. But when her boyfriend breaks up with her on-air, she starts to realize that not everything is butterflies and roses. Needing money to survive in the adult world, Lori applies for a job at a different radio station and comes face to face with Dr. Tough Love, or as he is less well-known, Ben Baxter. Ben is the complete contradiction of Lori. His approach to his callers is the harsh truth—no beating around the bush kind of guy. Can there possibly be anything underneath that hard piece of eye-candy, or is Lori correct in her assumption all men are jerks?
The phrase 'opposites attract' makes a comeback in this romantic comedy by Rich Amooi. And since I am going with the whole theme of coming back to life, let me say Just Another Silly Love Song recharges the essence of chick flicks. Rich Amooi knows how to dish out the wit in his writing, and Just Another Love Song is no exception. While most love stories represent young adults, Amooi revisits those in middle age and older. You’re never too old to fall in love and live a little. And, it doesn’t hurt to be best friends with your grandparents either. If you want a fun romp, then Just Another Love Song is for you. It is a light, easy read, and better than wasting your time watching reality TV.
