Joe Finds His Way Home tells us the story of a 9-year-old boy who lives quite far from school. Every day his mother picks him up after school. One day Joe waited hours after school, and he thought of how he could solve the situation himself. He decided to go home on his own. During his experience in this adventure, he discovered that things were not as easy as he expected. Joe learned a lot on his way home. Through this book, K. A. Mulenga teaches children very useful qualities to use in an unexpected situation, such as staying calm, looking for the best options, and, above all, persevering. Joe Finds His Way Home is an entertaining book with a good story.
I liked Joe Finds His Way Home because it deals with an experience familiar to children. Staying alone can be uncomfortable because of the uncertainty we feel. This book helps to talk about these situations positively because the story explains what to do and how to react. The images are clear, the presentation and narration shown in a few pages make the book more enriching. K. A. Mulenga does an excellent job to help us feel empathy toward children and the situations they go through. It was wonderful to find a book like this that explains very common topics upon which not much material is available. Joe Finds His Way Home is a wonderful book where children can learn many things and have fun.
