Jig, a dog who lives with a wonderful family, decides one day to go for a walk by himself and follow the smells of the city. Different people selling different types of food stir his hunger, and he can’t help but drift around the city, seeing what there is to eat. However, while he is doing this, he gets lost and eventually realizes that he has no idea where he is and cannot get home. Jig soon wanders into a park and falls asleep, tired after his long day of exploring. When he wakes up, he hears his name being called. Is it his family looking for him? Julia Kneeland’s Jig Gets Lost is a cute children’s book with a great animal protagonist.
What an adorable picture book! Jig Gets Lost by Julia Kneeland was an engaging read with wonderful, colorful illustrations. Jig is the type of dog I hope to have myself someday, with short legs and tall ears, and I loved following his journey around the city. He was such a happy dog with a sweet persona. Jig, like most dogs, deserved the world, in my opinion, and I was so happy to see him reunited with his family in the end. This book would make a perfect learning tool for young children; the language is simple and easy, and the illustrations correlate with the text. Everything about Jig Gets Lost by Julia Kneeland was just wonderful, and I would highly recommend it to children and their parents!
