Children must understand that making mistakes is normal and important for growth and development. In the children's illustrated book, Jake the Ape's Growth Mindset Affirmations: The Mindset School Series by Heather Lyn Davis, your child will learn that just because they make a mistake it doesn't mean that they're a failure and if they don't know something it's okay to ask for help. When Jake looked back on his day, he realized that each mishap that he had encountered offered him the opportunity to either correct it, apologize, learn something new, or become open about his weakness. With each of these steps, those around him were either willing to help or were able to appreciate his efforts.
Children will learn a lot from Jake by reading Jake the Ape's Growth Mindset Affirmations by Heather Lyn Davis. Initially, children may feel frustrated and unsure about themselves when trying something new but with the proper guidance from a parent or guardian, they will look forward to the next challenge. The child will then be able to turn what they once saw as an obstacle into an advantage. Children of all ages will benefit from Jake's experiences as they travel with him through the day. Just like Jake, they will look forward to sharing what they've learned with their parents. If you're looking for a book that can help build your child's confidence or improve their self-esteem, look no further. Highly recommended.
