Author Biography

I am a writer, poet and Christian apologist. "Israel Against All Odds (Volume One) " is my ninth full length book, and consists of two volumes. Four of my books have won a total of nine international awards.

I strongly feel that the nation of Israel is unfairly ostracized by most of the world at large, and Jews in general have been the most persecuted people in the annals of history. Arabs and Muslims, for instance, occupy more than 99 % of Middle Eastern territory, yet they seek to covet the less than one percent of land on which Jews reside - i.e. Israel. Seventy-four percent (74%) of Middle Eastern & North African Arabs & Muslims are anti-Semites (Jew haters). In the West Bank & Gaza 93% of the people despise Jews and the nation of Israel.

Even international watchdog and monitoring organizations like the United Nations shamelessly discriminate against, and malign Israel and Jews persistently.

In spite of unceasing persecution and denouncement, Israel (and Jews) stand tall and unwavering . They survive, and progress against all odds.

It is a nation that elicits strong opinions and emotions across the globe. For a long time, Israel has been on the receiving end of anti-Semitic sentiments and actions. In Israel - Against All Odds, Christopher H.K. Persaud presents the journey of the Jewish people from centuries past to their position today. At every turn, the people of Israel have had to fight for survival as they faced multiple expulsion orders from numerous states in various continents. Then the inconceivable happened during the Holocaust. Still, the disheartening twist is that many people have little or no idea of what took place during this period. Worse still, some even deny the magnitude of the atrocious crimes carried out by Hitler and other perpetrators. What is even more shocking is that the world never learned from this experience and many anti-Semitic tactics have been backed by world leaders in the recent past.

There are many questions that Christopher H.K. Persaud answers in Israel - Against All Odds. What is anti-Semitism? What are the different types of anti-Semitism that exist today? What misguided notions feed anti-Semitism in the modern world? The book is well structured and presented. Persaud writes on the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement and how the movement has been used as a disguised attempt to vilify the Jews. He also shares on the Iranian nuclear deal and the costly assumptions made by the world leaders who saw the agreement through. Despite the bleak future that faces the nation of Israel, Persaud ends the book with a note of hope. Rigorously researched and excellently written, Israel - Against All Odds is an eye-opening read.

Israel - Against All Odds by Christopher H.K. Persaud is a non-fiction book that is essentially a history of the Jews and the Jewish diaspora from the point of view of the author. Israel - Against All Odds is, in a sense, a historical narrative but it needs to be stated that it is entirely pro-Jews and pro-Israel and in fact Persaud himself presents this disclaimer at the start of the book. So, in that sense, it may or may not be a true depiction of history or at least one which takes into account all perspectives. Nevertheless, it does cover all of the important topics from the Jewish perspective such as the history and roots of anti-Semitism, Zionism, the Nazi Holocaust, the role of the United Nations in the formation of Israel, the Israel-Palestinian conflict, the historical record of Christian anti-Semitism and the Christian belief of Jews as “Jesus killers,” to the more current, present day issues of the American stance on Israel, racism and anti-Semitism in America, the BDS movement, the Iranian nuclear deal, and an insightful look at American politics in regards to Israel.

Israel - Against All Odds is an interesting read. Although clearly one-sided in its narrative, it does provide a broad overview of the history of the Jews since the dawn of civilization. It is a fact that, to a certain extent, the book may be called religious or theological with its utter faith in the gospel and prophecies, among other things. I found the book to be well-researched and Persaud clearly is passionate about the subject. That intensity of feeling shows through in the writing and makes it authentic and genuine from that perspective. Of course, I did not agree 100% with everything written in the book, but then everyone is entitled to their opinion and that is exactly what this book does—expresses Persaud’s opinions on Jews in history and the state of Israel. There are also references provided at the end of book which I appreciated.
