Ice Cream Dream by Cazzy Zahursky tells the story of a young boy who excitedly visits his favorite ice cream shop with his mother, hoping to purchase a scoop of his favorite flavor, vanilla. When the shop attendant informs him that the store is all out of vanilla, the boy is disappointed but doesn't relent on his original request. Despite the various alternative flavors that are available--including rocky road, mint chocolate chip, and pistachio--the boy insists that his only ice cream choice is vanilla. Not even the different colors, textures, exotic samples, or international flavors from Italy, Norway, France, and China seem tantalizing to our finicky little friend. Fortunately, the shop attendant is just as persistent as the little boy. Does his persistence pay off eventually? The ending will bring a warm smile to your face.
