I Want to Be by Regina D. Puckett is a motivational picture book for kids who want to do great things, and answers the questions: what is your dream job and why? There are many occupations in life, and children are inspired by watching adults do their jobs. Each page in I Want to Be shows what a person wants to be when they grow up and why they want to do that job. Teachers want to help children learn, doctors want to make people feel better, and so on. The last two are beautiful and heartwarming. Read I Want to Be and discover what your children may want to be when they grow up.
I enjoyed reading I Want to Be because of its inspirational message. The reasons given for these occupations are simple and pure. Growing up, we all dream of becoming somebody that helps in society. Every child envisions their future job and gradually acquires the skills to fulfill their dreams. Regina D. Puckett reminds us of our dreams and helps reinforce children's dreams. We should always teach kids the importance of having dream jobs and encourage them to reach their dreams. I also loved the illustrations because they are simple and colorful. I would encourage parents and teachers to help their kids draw what they want to be. Let them draw using the simple style used in this book, and stick the drawing in their bedroom or classroom to help remind them every day of their plan.
