I Think of You by Marie White is a beautiful children’s storybook that will help young readers understand how loved ones are always remembered, irrespective of if they are together or not. The story, told from the viewpoint of a puppy, speaks about how and when he thinks about his loved ones. When the sky is blue and the butterflies come out to play; he wonders if his owner is wearing a coat when it is cold; when he smells the flowers during springtime, and so on. The story is about the thoughts of loved ones that cross our minds even if they are not with us. Whether it is a good or bad day, sad or happy moment, the dog is always thinking about his loved ones and wondering if they are safe.
The author handles a beautiful topic with love and care, giving it a spiritual vibe. An element of purity and tenderness also runs through the book in the way it has been handled. Loving and being concerned about your loved ones is normal but what makes this book special is the way it has been expressed and the novel approach to the concept. The illustrations are captivating and they enhance the poetic expressions of the author and make the thoughts tangible to young readers. Books like this are a good read for children, and it makes them happy and comforted to know they are always in the minds of their parents and the people who love them. It is a delightful book for bedtime storytelling and can be used for read aloud sessions in classrooms.
