I Like Mud is a lovely collection of poetry by Margaret Grote, an award-winning poet and dedicated teacher who passed away in 2005. In fulfillment of Grote's wishes, this collection is now shared by her son, David, and his cousin, Marcia Wheelan Coles, who illustrated this heartwarming book. These poems reflect the joy and wonder of everyday moments. There are poems about family, changing seasons, colors, playing outdoors, and more. Grote skillfully captures the delights of childhood, from a visit to the ice cream truck to the unconditional love between a child and a family pet. Colorful and lively illustrations accompany these uplifting poems.
