How to Invite An Elephant to Tea by Genellyn Driver is a delightful story that kids will enjoy reading. The story is about how to invite elephants for tea and the type of preparations required before that. Elephants are elegant creatures and the book tells readers that there are four steps to invite an elephant to tea. The book tells us about the different types of elephants and how each of them should be made happy while at the tea party. The story takes readers through the tea party and demonstrates how to hold a good tea party that will become the talk of the town among all the elephants and will result in more elephants wanting to attend the next party.
The book is light, whimsical and funny. The illustrations are top class and add to the beauty and charm of the book. The characters and the scenes come alive with the help of the illustrations, making it easy for kids to relate to what the author is trying to convey. It is a good bedtime story book. Parents and grandparents will find it useful for their kids and grandkids. School libraries can also use it for their read aloud sessions. Books like these teach children a lot of new concepts, such as how to host a tea party, the steps to inviting the guests, the types of guests and how to throw a successful tea party. The tips are useful and the book is a fun read for kids.
