How Short Hitting, Bad Golfers Break 90 All the Time, written by Fred Fields and illustrated by Stephen Stanton, is the handiest book for anyone with any kind of interest in golf. The sport of golf and the theory of the game is discussed in the first chapter of this book. Following this are chapters devoted to chipping, putting, and pitching, along with a chapter about one's grip. Then there are also chapters discussing how to hit the ball straight and how to hit the ball in specific areas, such as in sand. The book concludes with random tips from the author. Each chapter has well-defined sections and the information is presented in a clear, concise manner, making it easily understood. There are also pictures throughout the book that illustrate various tips.
I recently went golfing for the very first time and have a limited knowledge of the sport. I wish I had read Fred Fields' book, How Short Hitting, Bad Golfers Break 90 All the Time, before I went! After reading Fields' book, I feel as if I have so much more knowledge about golf, including how to best hit the ball in regards to the distance I would like it to travel. Some of the tips included in this book I feel are so important for people to know; however they may not be something that a person is told before they play golf; thus making this book a must-read and a resource to have handy!
