Hers To Choose by Lizzie Ashworth is about Bryn McClure, who might lose her beloved farm. She was married to a controlling man who liked to exert his power in every way possible, and now when she is away from his influence, she has put all her power into saving her grandfather’s farm. Living in a small town comes with its hindrances and there is not much she can do to save up enough money to stop the bank from taking away the farm. She puts up an ad for a cabin on her land for rent, but she is in for one hell of a surprise.
The Cannon cousins see the ad and jump at the opportunity. Dan Cannon is going through a bad break-up and Alex thought that a hunting trip would be the perfect opportunity for Dan to get over it. When they get there, Alex approaches Bryn and offers a proposition. She will have to sexually submit to Dan so that he perks up once again. But there’s a snag; Alex’s humor and warmth have won Bryn’s heart and Dan’s dominance excites her. What can she do? The Cannon cousins are like brothers. Can she destroy their relationship because she wants one of them too much?
Hers to Choose by Lizzie Ashworth was a little bit of a surprise for me. I usually don’t read BDSM themed novels after a fiasco with Fifty Shades of Grey, but this intrigued me. The storyline is good and kudos to Ashworth for writing something really unique, but I could not understand Dan. He is selfish and self-centered and has no regard for Alex’s feelings. Even though Alex tells him how he feels about Bryn and it is pretty clear that Bryn prefers Alex, Dan ignored them and went on his merry way to dominate Bryn. Apart from that, the book was really good. I really enjoyed it. Five stars from this reader!
