Heroism, Humility, and Honor: Poems to Thank You by T.E. Brooks presents a collection of over ten patriotic and heart wrenching poems for the men and women that have served and are still serving our country. Heroism, Humility, and Honor not only offers an essence of thankfulness, but it provides the motivation, compassion and empowerment that our servicemen and women need. Heroism, Humility, and Honor shows the respect for the duty and sacrifice that these men and women gave, and our appreciation of that effort. They matter, their lives matter, and the sacrifices that they have made matter. As you review the Table of Contents, you know immediately that there are poems that will touch the heart, from A Soldier’s Heroic Heart, Mighty Soldier of Valor, Coming Home, and Peace: The Mission to United We Stand.
As I read poems like Commitment to Serve, it seemed like the words just leapt off the pages in showing the commitment and valor that soldiers feel for their country. In absorbing the words from Commitment to Serve, you will see how the words speak on the page: “What does it mean to serve? To serve means/ To give of one’s self, for the good of others/ Never expecting anything in return/ Thinking of others/ Before you think about yourself.” For those who died, were injured, served, and sacrificed, including your families, we thank you.
