Granny Jean’s invitation came at just the right time. Annalisa’s live in boyfriend had left her with nothing. She didn’t really care, no man could compare to her dream man. He came to her in her dreams. He’d been there as long as she could remember, first as his friend and later as more. She’d never felt she fit in. It was as though she were born in the wrong time.
Granny Jean’s cottage was near the edge of the moor. Above the fireplace hung the portrait of an ancestor, he was the man from Annalisa’s dreams. She could hear him calling to her. Jean was not her biological grandmother. The delightful woman had raised Annalisa’s father and when Annalisa was orphaned she found refuge with Granny Jean.
On several occasions Annalisa heard Jean speaking to someone. When she asked who it was, Jean told her it was Alec, the Earl of Sunderland. He had powers. He was the man in the portrait. Annalisa wondered if her Granny was growing senile. Granny was not senile but she was ill and she dying. Before her death she wanted to see Annalisa happy.
In a mere 83 pages P.L. Parker creates a love story that surpasses time. I love time travel romance and this one is exquisite. The characters are delightful, even the secondary characters have distinctive voices. I will be watching for more novels by P.L. Parker.
