This is a review of Guilty Wives audio format. Four women planned a “Girls Only Weekend.” It turned into a nightmare. Abbie, Winnie, Serena and Bryah headed to Monte Carlo where they intend to enjoy the casinos, drinking and staying in a luxury hotel. Serena Schofield gave each of the girls fifty thousand dollars to play with. She assured the girls she would foot the bills. Each of the women was living in a troubled marriage. When they met four wealthy, sexy men they succumbed to temptation and accompanied them to a yacht. The next morning they are arrested for the murder of the beloved French President. Everyone deems them guilty before the trial starts. Abbie soon discovers the court system in France is very different from the one in the United States. The women are found guilty and sent to prison where they are cruelly abused.
Abbie Elliott narrates "Guilty Wives". Throughout the ordeal she clings to the hope that someone will come to her rescue with evidence that will prove her not guilty. James Patterson is a prolific writer; in this book he joins forces with David Ellis to write a thriller I couldn’t stop listening too. "Guilty Wives" was read by January LaVoy; her voice brought out the emotions of Abbie in this audiobook. "Guilty Wives" is one of the best James Patterson books I have ever read. He kept me guessing throughout this book. There are twists and turns throughout this book. I do not know how much of the information about France's legal system is fiction but I now have a much stronger appreciation for the US system. I highly recommend this thriller. Don’t miss it.
