Good Tales is a chilling collection of fictional short stories written by Louis Winslow. With tales guaranteed to entertain, this book includes twenty short stories to keep you on the edge of your seat. Some of the stories are based on Winslow’s true life experiences and others take you to the edge of fantasy and horror. Hank, a forty-five year old man joins an Occult Studies class where the class requirement is to interview Satan himself. Will Satan really appear to Hank and offer him a deal of a lifetime? Tim is a volunteer bell-ringer for the Salvation Army who wishes he could donate a large amount of money to the organization like others in his community. Tim discovers a wallet stuffed with hundred dollar bills and must decide whether to donate it or return it to a wealthy man with consequences pending. Jerry is hunting for a trophy buck in the middle of winter and gets lost in the woods. He ignores his wife’s warning to bring a friend along and pays the price dearly!
With many more thrilling stories filled with spectacular twists and turns, Louis Winslow has brought out a great collection of stories that hold your attention and do not disappoint! The cover of the book grabbed my attention immediately as it sets an eerie tone that injects the reader into suspense before even getting to the first page. I could comprehend each short story easily and imagine each scene unfolding before my eyes with ease. Each chapter is packed with edge-of-your-seat excitement and conclusions that you will not see coming. Every story is fascinating and different from the one before it. I loved the variety of the short stories, the use of imagery and the surprise endings. I was hooked from the very first frightening tale to the very last terrifying one. I very much enjoyed this collection of mysterious stories and very much look forward to Louis Winslow’s next collection of short stories. I recommend this book to all readers who enjoy fictional short stories that border on reality, but also take you into fantasy and mystery.
