In a wonderful new read by author Brandt R. Schubbe, readers will be taken on quite an emotional journey, one they won't soon forget. God, the Welder follows the story of our protagonist, known only as "Dad," as he is dealing with circumstances beyond the comprehension of most. He has lost the ability to speak due to the actions of a man who has a map tattooed on his face, and starts to express himself through a love of creative writing. Through that, he is able to connect with others, namely a man named George. He's also able to start to make sense of his past, something that has long caused him turmoil and pain. Dad's religious beliefs, which in many ways were contrary to the life he had previously lived, also come into the spotlight. Will Dad be able to come to grips with all that has happened to him? You'll need to read this wonderful book to find out!
I so enjoyed God, the Welder. Author Brandt R. Schubbe has done an amazing job in creating characters that his readers will be able to connect with, will relate to and will truly come to care about, thinking about them long after the story is done. If that isn't a hallmark of a great author, I'm not sure what is. This story is heartfelt, and readers will find themselves brushing away tears on more than one occasion while reading it. Any reader who loves a great work of inspirational fiction should absolutely read this book. I highly recommend it, and look forward to reading more from the very promising author, Brandt R. Schubbe, as soon as I possible can!
