In Ghost by Michael Jack Webb, a serial killer targets children under the age of 10. This killer is elusive and cunning. Local police call in the help of FBI profiler Kate Justice. Kate has an uncanny ability to think outside the box when it comes to profiling, but it seems to be a bit harder this time. On a hunch, she tracks the killer to its lair and is shot with her own weapon. Now, a year after being released from the hospital, Kate is back on the case with a fresh set of eyes and the help of Detective Chris Schindler. As new information comes to light, Kate has to adjust her thinking beyond the physical to include the spiritual, especially with her parents’ sudden disappearance that leads to more questions than answers about her own ancestry.
In this gripping thriller that combines Christian spirituality with Native American mythology, literally, anything is possible. Michael Jack Webb has certainly done extensive research that makes this story worth reading. From criminal profiling techniques to spiritual warfare, nothing was overlooked. The attention to detail is phenomenal! This book was hard to put down as each page turn pulled me deeper and deeper into the mystery. I would say that anyone who doesn’t like a fair bit of violence within a thriller should steer clear. Ghost definitely pushes the boundaries of conventional thrillers. As the first book in the series, the bar has been set pretty high. I’m excited to read the next installment of the Justice Chronicles. Great story! Great concept!
