This book provides a step-to-step guide for moving to the countryside and integrating into a new community. The author has given solutions to questions a person needs to ask before they make the big move. These range from the type of town, the kind of home, land fertility, internet connection, and most importantly if they are mentally prepared to move to the country. The book covers the best ways to interact with members of your new community to avoid isolation. The last section provides detailed instructions on the things you need to do in the months leading to the move.
I loved reading Getting Away. Arthur Kundell did not cut corners and provided all the information a person might need. Everything was straight to the point and made the book easy to follow. The author described the beauty to be found in the countryside and the advantages of living there. The book is well-structured, and the information is in chronological order. All the chapters have well-presented details and data about country life. I loved how the writer emphasized preparing yourself mentally before the move. Many people want to move to the countryside, but do not anticipate the hardships this kind of change may bring. This book lists all the problems a person may encounter and how to overcome them. People who want to retire to the countryside or wish to live in a close-knit community should read this book.
