From Best Kept Secret To Success In Life, Love & Business is an inspirational self-help book written by Jo Dibblee. Trauma visited Dibblee early on in her life, and it took up long-term residence. Her parents were ill-equipped to deal with their young family, and Dibblee and her siblings often had to do without the basic necessities of life. Dibblee doubly felt this as the eldest child, especially after her father made it her responsibility to care for her younger siblings in their mother's stead. When a social worker tried to help her by providing her with a stable family experience for a weekend, the young teenager was assaulted by her foster dad. He used threats of violence to ensure that she would never speak of the abuse she suffered at his hands. He would kill everyone she cared about and finish with her. And he claimed that no one would ever believe her anyway.
