From Above and Below is the first book in the series The Stories of M.E. by Justin Judkins, with a contribution by Aleisha Judkins. This is a delightfully entertaining tale about the value of friendship and teamwork. In this well written and thought provoking story, we see Mason the gopher and Elliott the rabbit working hard at tending to their carrot gardens. Conflict arises when they discover they have both been working hard to tend to the same garden, one from above the ground, one from below. After an argument, the two part ways and set out to grow their carrot gardens on their own. They each discover that growing a garden without the help of the other is much harder work than they bargained for. They realize how much they need each other. Will they return home to make amends and discover the value of friendship and teamwork?
This is a lovable and adorable book. The authors show incredible talent, friendship and teamwork in putting together this extraordinary little book. Destined to become a timeless classic, this book is filled with bright full color pages illustrated by Bambi Silva. This book is educational - in addition to teaching children values, the authors provide readers with a list of important words to learn. The book is also expertly written, using a whimsical rhyming style. Unique to this book, the illustrator has cleverly hidden objects within each picture that the young reader can look for and identify, thus increasing the child’s interaction with the book. I highly recommend reading From Above and Below by Justin Judkins and Aleisha Judkins.
